SummitStone’s newest Board member, Nate Budd
As SummitStone continues to grow our services and reach, it is inspiring to know that community members have a vested interest in helping us further our mission. One way to do that is to join our Board of Directors as a volunteer. I am so pleased to introduce you to our newest Board member, Nate Budd.
Nate is an experienced fundraising and business development strategist with several multi-million-dollar successes spanning the start-up, natural resources, infrastructure, non-profit and higher education sectors. Nate brings to the Board his experiences from more than six years as a philanthropic development professional in higher education and a decade of navigating the legal, financial and regulatory hurdles of water infrastructure permitting and development in the Western United States.
Nate earned his BS from the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University and has been a member of the Fort Collins Community for more than 15 years. During that time, he served as President of the Board for the Friends of the Gardens on Spring Creek during their recent expansion, Vice President of the Board for Neighbor to Neighbor and Homelessness Prevention Initiative through their merger and establishment of a fundraising division, was a member of the Coloradoan’s Editorial Board, and advised on the successful mayoral campaigns for two regional municipalities.
Nate brings extensive not-for-profit Board experience to our Board of Directors. His fundraising experience and ability to navigate complex regulatory issues will be a great asset to our organization as we continue to evolve and grow. Please join me in welcoming Nate Budd to the Board!

I am extremely passionate about the Fort Collins and Larimer County communities and always trying to expand my understanding of key issues and contribute my skill sets where needed and applicable. Healthcare, mental health and addiction are a large challenge that fits that interest with many opportunities for my experience and network to be applied.”
