Transforming Lives Together: My Vision as CEO

Dear SummitStone Community,

It is with deep humility and tremendous hope that I write to you today as the new CEO of SummitStone Health Partners. I am honored to lead an organization with over 65 years of dedication to transforming lives through recovery, renewal, and respect in Larimer County.

As we enter Mental Health Awareness Month, I am reminded of why our work matters. This month serves as both a reminder and an opportunity—a reminder that mental health and addiction challenges touch all our lives in some way, and an opportunity to reduce stigma through compassionate conversation and education. Mental health is not separate from health; it is an essential component of our overall wellbeing.

My vision for SummitStone builds upon our strong foundation while embracing what’s ahead. Together, we will:

  • Continue our commitment to our core value of “Come As You Are,” recognizing that recovery is possible for everyone, regardless of where they are on their journey
  • Strengthen our role as leaders and advocates for behavioral health in Northern Colorado
  • Expand access to our more than 50 evidence-based services, especially for underserved communities
  • Invest in our dedicated staff who make our mission possible every day
  • Collaborate with community partners to collectively work toward making Northern Colorado the healthiest community in the nation

In the coming months, I look forward to meeting many of you and hearing your perspectives. Every voice matters in this journey. Together, we will continue to foster trust, empower recovery, and inspire hope.

With gratitude,

Cyndi Dodds, Chief Executive Officer

Take Action: Help Save Medicaid Funding

SummitStone is fighting to protect funding for Colorado’s Medicaid program, Health First Colorado. Many people in our community use Medicaid for their mental health care. We help almost 8,000 people each year who use Medicaid.

Why This Matters: The United States Congress wants to cut $880 billion from Medicaid. This would make it hard for us to continue to help as many people as possible every year. SummitStone offers over 50 kinds of services and Medicaid pays for 45% of what we do.

SummitStone in the Community

The Teen Self-Care Fair at Chilson Senior Center was a total blast, with teens trying everything from aerial silks to art projects and therapy dog cuddles, all while enjoying free food and learning cool new ways to take care of their mental health! The smiles and connections made showed exactly what we mean when we say “Come As You Are” at SummitStone—a welcoming space where young people can be themselves while building important skills for wellbeing.
