Voter-approved, Community-Driven Behavioral Health Facility for Larimer County

An inaugural effort for behavioral health in Colorado. The new Acute Care Behavioral Health facility at the Longview Campus will serve Larimer County residents in need of urgent help for mental health and/or substance use disorders.

The new facility will provide licensed, equitable, and culturally relevant care and treatment to individuals in crisis with mental health and/or substance use disorders. This facility will serve anyone residing in Larimer County in need of urgent intervention for mental health or substance use regardless of race, color, ethnic or national origin, ancestry, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, creed, political beliefs, or disability.

Building the Future of
Behavioral Healthcare

The facility is located at 2260 West Trilby Road in Fort Collins. Completion of this project will bring almost 200 jobs to Larimer County while filling much of the need for critical services. Construction is underway and the facility will open to the public in late 2023.

New & Enhanced Services

Larimer County has contracted with SummitStone Health Partners along with UCHealth to provide clinical care and treatment at the Acute Care Behavioral Health facility. The innovative design of the facility and the unique approach to care will allow individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis to access multiple levels of care at one location. A comprehensive care team will be available 24/7 to accept, assess and assure care for all individuals who arrive at the facility. An intake team will be available for a seamless transfer of care for those in crisis from family, law enforcement officers, and other first responders. A highly-trained care team will provide the appropriate level of care for the appropriate amount of time and coordinate a care plan before being discharged.

Once open, services at the facility will include:

24/7 Walk-in Behavioral Health Urgent Care

Withdrawal management (Medical & Non-Medical)

Crisis stabilization unit (CSU), a short-term inpatient program for individuals with moderate to severe acute psychiatric or co-occurring crises

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)

Care coordination

On-site pharmacy and lab services

23-hour behavioral health observation
